1942- Joining the Army A recruitment film was created to encourage women, like me, to serve in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp (WAAC).
1942 (April 18)- A Dangerous Flight: Doolittle Raid I, along with the fifteen other WASPs, take off from the USS Hornet. We set off to bomb Tokyo. Although we were succesful (we injured 400 people and 50 died), we were losing fuel and crash landed in China. Some, I heard were captured by the Japanese. The others... they died. :(
